Canadian Paralympic Committee congratulates Chelsey Gotell on election to IPC Governing Board

Ottawa, December 12, 2021  Canadian Paralympian Chelsey Gotell was elected to the International Paralympic Committees Governing Board on Sunday at the IPC General Assembly. Gotell, a three-time Paralympian and 12-time Paralympic medallist in swimming, is the first former chair of the IPC Athletes Council to be elected as one of the Boards members at large.

IPC president Andrew Parsons and vice-president Duane Kale were also re-elected to another term in their respective roles.

Congratulations to Chelsey on her much-deserved election to the IPC Governing Board. Chelsey has been a firmly established and well-respected leader within the Canadian and global Paralympic communities for many years. Her accomplishments as chair of the IPC Athletes Council are vast, and she will take that same commitment and passion into her next role as a full member of the Board. We appreciate her strong, measured, and dynamic leadership, and know she will continue to make a significant impact and drive positive change for the Paralympic Movement. We wish her all the best with her new role.
