Canadian Men’s Softball Team to Compete in Kelowna May Days Fastpitch Tournament
Softball Canada – Kelowna, B.C. – The Canadian Men’s National Softball Team will kick-off its 2019 season by competing in the Kelowna May Days Fastpitch Tournament at Kings Stadium in Kelowna, B.C. from May 17-20. The tournament will serve as a tune-up before the team heads to the WBSC Men’s Softball World Championship that will take place June 13-23 in Prague and Havlickuv Brod, Czech Republic.
The tournament will feature a total of eight teams including the Kelowna Andre’s, Sooke Loggers, PG Big Guy Lake Kings, Vernon Installers, Saskatoon WD Plastics Jr. Diamondbacks, Lumberjack Giants, and Grand Prairie Pirates alongside Team Canada.
Team Canada is coming off a bronze medal performance at the previous WBSC Men’s Softball World Championship held in Whitehorse, Y.T. in 2017. Canada is currently ranked second in the WBSC Men’s Softball World Rankings and will be looking to reclaim the Gold medal they earned at the 2015 Worlds held in Saskatoon, Sask.
The seventeen (17) athletes who will represent Canada at the Kelowna May Days Fastpitch Tournament and the WBSC Men’s Softball World Championship are:
