Canadian Luge Association —Canadian Team hits the track in Calgary on Tuesday at 2:30 and Wednesday at 9 a.m.—

CALGARY—Fresh off making their mark on the world stage with a medal-winning performance at the Whistler Sliding Centre, Canada’s luge team will slide east to Calgary for the second-straight Viessmann Luge World Cup stop on home ice, December 4-8.

Olympic medallists, Tristan Walker and Justin Snith, will be joined by a new-look crop of Canadian luge athletes who will amongst 100 athletes representing 23 countries at Winsport’s Canada Olympic Park.

Media are invited to attend the Canadian team’s training sessions throughout the week. The Canucks will be on the track Tuesday from 2:30-4:45 p.m., and on Wednesday from 9-11 a.m.

Interviews will be conducted on the finish dock, or by phone, at the conclusion of training.

The Viessmann Luge World Cup in Calgary will have something for the whole family to enjoy on Friday and Saturday. Coined Lugeapalooza, the event will include visits by Santa, balloon artists, cookie decorating, popcorn and hot chocolate, sleigh rides, and guests will also have an opportunity to try luge. There will be live music by Matt Blais, an outdoor beer gardens with Village Brewery and a whole lot more between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Friday, December 7 – $10 (4 years+), Free (3 & Under) includes access to the race PLUS popcorn & hot chocolate (for the first 150 spectators).

Saturday, December 8 – $10 (4 years+), Free (3 & Under) includes access to the race and Lugeapalooza activities. Tickets are available in advance on Eventbrite and at the Gate.
