Canadian Cross-Country Ski Team Strides into Canmore for Final Four Stages of Ski Tour Canada
Cross Country Canada —Canadian squad to hold media availability around training March 7—
CANMORE, Alta.—Canada’s elite cross-country ski athletes invite news and sports media to take-in their final training session as the eight-race Ski Tour Canada shifts to Western Canada for the final four stages at the Canmore Nordic Centre.
The national team athletes will hit the trails of the Canmore Nordic Centre, March 7 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
All attending media must check into the Bill Warren Training Centre to receive event accreditation.
The inaugural Ski Tour Canada, which is also serving as the World Cup Finals, consists of eight races at four renowned Nordic venues in the country starting in Gatineau, Que., then traveling to Montreal, Quebec City, and ending with the final four stages in Canmore, Alta., over a 12-day period.
The action kicks off in Canmore with the fifth stage set for March 8 – a classic-ski sprint race. The best cross country ski athletes in the world will then hit the start line for a skiathlon March 9, followed by an individual skate-ski distance race March 11. The final race of the season will be a classic-ski pursuit on March 12.
