Canadian Ball Hockey Association – ST.JOHN’S, Monday, January 9, 2017 – The Canadian Ball Hockey Association’s (CBHA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Laurence Bishop as Executive Director. Bishop, who will be based near Brockville, ON, joins the CBHA with a strong background of experience in sport, recreation and leadership management. He begins his role immediately.
 
“I’m excited to be joining Canadian Ball Hockey Association and to have been given this great opportunity of leading the organization in a sound and strategic direction,” said Bishop. “I look forward to working with our board, provincial members, athletes, coaches, staff and the entire Canadian ball hockey community to continue Canada’s long-standing tradition of excellence in ball hockey.”
 

He has held a number of leadership positions in sport, most recently as Executive Director with the Ontario Fencing Association and Business of Curling Coordinator with Ontario Curling. His extensive experience within the Canadian sport system spans over 27 years, including past involvement with Ontario Volleyball, Maple Leaf Sport & Entertainment, the Canada 55+ Games and the National Senior Games Association (US Senior Olympics).

“Laurence comes to the CBHA with a passion for organizational development and advancement of sport in Canada. He’s an experienced sport leader,” said Steve Power, CBHA President. “His proven experience in sport management and sport tourism, will support the achievement of our strategic goals and benefit the CBHA moving forward. We’re thrilled to welcome Laurence to Canadian Ball Hockey Association and look forward to working with him.”
