Canada’s Speed Skaters Set to Take on the World at ISU World Sprint Speed Skating Championships
Speed Skating Canada – Canada’s Team announcement, new community outreach initiative “Skate Calgary” to be launched –
Calgary, February 21, 2017 – With less than one year to the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, Calgary will once again host the world’s best speed skaters at the ISU World Sprint Speed Skating Championships, February 25-26 at the Olympic Oval.
The Canadian Team athletes for this competition will be announced and several special guests will be on hand to formally launch the new community outreach initiative, Skate Calgary, including four-time Olympic medalist Denny Morrison, Deputy Mayor Diane Colley-Urquhart and Speed Skating Canada’s Interim Chief Executive Officer Susan Auch.
