Canada Soccer – Canada Soccer has announced a 19-player squad for a pair of Men’s U-17 International Friendly matches in Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA. The two international matches highlight an eight-day camp with U-17 coach Paul Stalteri from 10-17 April 2016. 

Canada will face USA on 15 and 17 April at Lockhart Stadium. Both squads are in early preparation for the 12-nation CONCACAF Men’s Under-17 Championship, with dates and location yet to be announced. That CONCACAF tournament will qualify four nations to the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017.

This marks Canada Soccer’s second U-17 camp this calendar year as part of the Men’s EXCEL Program. Between the two camps, coach Stalteri will have already worked with 35 different players in February and April.

Canada Soccer’s Men’s EXCEL Program channels our nation’s exceptional players into the best soccer environments. The Canada Soccer Pathway works in collaboration with our provincial and territory partners as well as the professional clubs and academies. For Canada’s elite players, the program emphasizes player development on the pathway to representing Canada’s Men’s National Team in international soccer.
