Softball Canada – Santo Domingo, D.R – After seeing both of its games washed out on Saturday, Team Canada won both ends of a doubleheader on Sunday by defeating Guatemala 4-0 and Mexico 4-3 at the IX Pan American Women’s Softball Championship. Karissa Hovinga (Edmonton, Alta.) fired a no-hitter in the first game, while Jenna Caira (Toronto, Ont.) held Mexico hitless through five innings before Canada hung on for the win.

In the second, Larissa Franklin (Maple Ridge, B.C.) doubled to left and was sacrificed to third but was left stranded, while Mexico got a runner on base on an error in the third but was unable to push the runner in to score.
