Volleyball Canada – Arnhem, the Netherlands. July 15, 2018: Canada’s women’s team got off to a good start beating Rwanda 3-0 (26-24, 25-9, 25-8) in today’s opener of the World Championships in the Netherlands.

Danielle Ellis and Heidi Peters each contributed 16 points to the winning effort today.

“It was nice to get the win in three sets, and the team showed a lot of composure in the first despite some nerves,” said Canada’s assistant coach Christine Biggs. “We took some time to get comfortable this afternoon, and to executing our game plan, but once we took control of our first contact and applied the tactics of our game plan we were able to gain some momentum and take control of the match.”

Canada’s next match is against Croatia on Monday, July 16 at 15:00 local.  The match is scheduled to be streamed live on World ParaVolley’s Facebook page.
