March 18, 2020, Ottawa – Time to nominate someone for the 2020 Canadian Commonwealth Sport Awards in the Sport Development Excellence Category – SportWORKS (formerly IDS (International Development  through Sport)).  If you know of an individual who should be recognized for their exceptional contributions during their international or domestic placement with Commonwealth Sport Canada (CSC), now is the time to nominate them!  The award is presented to a SportWORKS Officer who has made a significant contribution to the development of sport. Recipient selection for this award is based on the nominee’s contribution to the development of sport (at any level) in Commonwealth countries around the world (including Canada), especially as it relates to CSC’s values of humanity, equality and destiny.  Click here for Previous Award Recipients.

NOMINATION Guidelines

• Nominations should be as detailed as possible.  Please include:
  • current address of next of kin or preferred contact name if the nomination is made posthumous.
  • reflection upon the character and conduct of the person or persons nominated.
  • This information should be supported by two (2) letters of reference from exemplary individuals from the organization and/or community.
  • Please provide a photo of the nominated person, if available.
  • Please feel free to attach information as well as completing this form.

• All costs relating to the nomination are the responsibility of the nominator(s).

• Nominations must be emailed to kelly@commonwealthsport.ca by 9:00a.m. ET on MARCH 30, 2020. Only nominations received by this deadline will be considered – no exceptions.

• All nomination packages will be acknowledged by reply email when received.  If you do not receive this acknowledgement, please contact the CSC office staff with 48 hours of submission.

• Only completed nomination forms will be submitted to CSC’s Awards and Recognition Committee.

• CSC’s Awards & Recognition Committee is comprised of individual members from across Canada.  In considering nominations, the Committee may:

• verify any information submitted
• seek further information on the nominee(s)
