Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame – On Wednesday, June 14, the Class of 2017 inductees will come together at Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in Calgary for a gala fundraiser with the goal of inspiring and encouraging thousands of young girls across Calgary, Alberta, and Canada to be active and get involved in sport. The Class of 2017 includes Carol Huynh (Wrestling), Cindy Klassen (Speed Skating), Lanny McDonald (Ice Hockey), the late Gaylord Powless (Lacrosse), Mike Weir (Golf), Simon Whitfield (Triathlon), the late Dr. Robert W. Jackson (Builder, Paralympic Games), Dr. Charles Tator (Builder, Sports Medicine), and the Edmonton Grads Basketball Team.
 
This is Calgary’s only opportunity to meet the Class of 2017 who will officially be inducted during the Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame 2017 Induction Celebrations on November 9 in Toronto. Induction into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame is the country’s highest sporting honour.
