Swimming Canada – ORLANDO, Florida – Dominique Bouchard of North Bay, Ont., collected her second silver medal at the Arena Pro Swim Series on Saturday finishing second in the women’s 200-m backstroke.

Olympic champion Missy Franklin of the U.S. took the gold in two minutes and 08.77 seconds edging Bouchard in second at 2:08.90. Elizabeth Beisel of the U.S. was third in 2:09.75 and Canada’s 15-year-old Taylor Ruck, currently residing in Arizona, was fourth in 2:11.64.

Bouchard, second in the 100-m backstroke behind Franklin on Friday, made huge strides on the international scene in 2015. She produced several strong international performances including a sixth place at the FINA World Championships in the 200-m backstroke.

Another bronze for Savard overseas

Meanwhile at the Marseilles Golden Tour in France, Katerine Savard of Pont-Rouge, Que., won her second bronze medal in two days placing third in the 100-m butterfly.

World record holder Sarah Sjostrom of Sweden took the gold in 57.01, Rachael Kelly of Britain was second in 58.11 and Savard third in 58.15.

Sarah Lee-Hevey of Montreal was sixth in the women’s 200-m individual medley and Mirando Jarry of Montreal seventh in the men’s 50-m freestyle.
