Basketball Nova Scotia – (HALIFAX, February 28, 2017): In partnership with Basketball Nova Scotia and the Halifax Metro Basketball Association, the Final 8 committee is pleased to announced the addition of a championship game on Saturday March 11 at 6:30pm, prior to the U Sports National Consolation Final, for the Boys 18 & Under league that was created due to the unfortunate cancellation of the High School Basketball season.  Killam Properties will present the Basketball Nova Scotia 18 & Under Championship as part of their sponsorship of the U Sports Final 8.  The U Sports Final 8 Men’s Basketball Championship is the premier elite amateur basketball event in Canada and is returning home to the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax this coming March 9-12, 2017.

“We have said from the moment we decided to bid that we wanted this event to be more than a series of elite basketball games, we wanted it to be a true celebration of amateur basketball, promoting engagement by basketball players and fans of all ages.  We felt that this was the least we could do to give these athletes a positive basketball experience given what they lost this year through no fault of their own” said Derek Martin, President of Sports & Entertainment Atlantic, producers of the event
