Equestrian Canada – Ottawa, ON, Feb. 27, 2018 – Canadians wowed the crowd during the seventh week of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF), with multiple athletes achieving personal best scores at the competition, held Feb. 22-25, 2018 in Wellington, FL.

Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu of Saint-Bruno, QC had an exceptional weekend, posting scores above 70% in each class she entered.

In the big tour, Fraser-Beaulieu rode her long-time partner, All In (Tango x Damiro), the 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding she co-owns with her father, Craig Fraser and husband, Marc-Andre Beaulieu, to a new personal best score of 75.850% for second place in the CDI-W Grand Prix Freestyle on Feb. 23. They also picked up third in the CDI-W Grand Prix on Feb. 22 on a score of 70.848%.

“The feeling All In gave me this past weekend was incredible,” said Fraser-Beaulieu, who has been competing at the FEI level with All In since 2013, with highlights including a team silver medal from the 2015 Pan American Games.

Jill Irving of Moncton, NB added to the above 70% streak in the CDI 3* Grand Prix on Feb. 22, where she rode the 16-year-old Hanoverian gelding she owns with Windhaven Farm, Degas 12 (De Niro 6 x Regazzoni), to third place with a score of 70.609%.

Canadian results in the small tour were highlighted by Diane Creech of Caistor Centre, ON, who rode Robbie W (sired by Rubin Royal), a 15-year-old Oldenburg gelding she owns with Louise Leatherdale, to a big win on Feb. 23 in the CDI 3* Intermediate I Freestyle. The pair bested a strong field of 13 competitors after scoring 72.925%.

Creech also added two second-place finishes to her record with Robbie W, starting on Feb. 22 with a personal best score of 70.637% in the CDI 3* Prix St. Georges, followed by 70.588% in the CDI 3* Intermediate I on Feb. 23.

Fraser-Beaulieu earned two impressive wins in the small tour aboard Soccer City (Sir Donnerhall x Weltmeyer), an 11-year-old Hanoverian gelding owned by Jill Irving and Windhaven Farm. The results were made all the more impressive considering this was just the second FEI competition for the new duo.

Together, Fraser-Beaulieu and Soccer City scored 70.392% for top prize in the CDI 1* Prix St. Georges on Feb. 22, then went on to confidently win the CDI 1* Intermediate I class on Feb. 24. Their score of 70.971% gave them an impressive margin of 2.5% over second-place finisher, Patricia Becker of the United States and Derk (68.471%). Patrick Battison of Sudbury, ON, followed in third after scoring 66.059% on Diana Belevsky’s 17-year-old Hanoverian gelding, Rigo (Rotspon x Weltmeyer).

“Soccer City shined in the Intermediate I,” said Fraser-Beaulieu. “His confidence is building in the ring, which is very exciting for Canada.”

She continued, “I am so fortune to have such a large support group behind me, including my father, Craig Fraser; my husband, Marc Beaulieu; Ashley Holzer; Jacqueline Brooks; and Jill Irving – who has given me the opportunity to ride Soccer City.”

Canada’s NextGen dressage athletes proved their mettle in the CDI-Y division. The Team test on Feb. 23 was won by Camille Carier Bergeron of Mascouche, QC, who scored 70.000% riding Expression (Sibirian Express x Florestan), the 13-year-old Westphalian gelding she co-owns with Gilles Bergeron. Vanessa Creech-Terauds of Caistor Centre, ON danced her way to second place, scoring 68.578% on the nine-year-old Hanoverian mare, Fleur de Lis L (First Dance x De Niro), owned by Diane Creech and Louise Leatherdale.

The following day, the young Canadian athletes dominated the leaderboard in the Individual, with Carier Bergeron clinching the top two spots. She claimed first on a score of 70.167% with Expression, and second with 69.882% aboard the 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding Baldacci (Havidoff x Rubiquil), also co-owned with Gilles Bergeron. Rakeya Moussa of Edmonton, AB rounded out third place on Davidoff V.H. Trichelhof (Lord Leatherdale x Wall Street), a 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Susan and Mohammed Moussa, with a score of 67.176%.

Competition continues at the AGDF until mid-March, with the next CDI competition taking place Feb. 28 – March 3, 2018. For more information and results, visit http://gdf.coth.com.
