Gymnastics Canada – BERLIN, GER (July 2, 2016) –Patricia Bezzoubenko and Katherine Uchida represented Canada at the World Cup in Germany this weekend placing 15th and 23rd respectively.

Bezzoubenko’s best score of the competition came from her clubs routine where she scored 17.300. She also had a strong performance in hoop, narrowly missing 17 points and finishing with 16.950.  Bezzoubenko rounded out her competition with a score of 16.100 in the ball and 16.250 in her ribbon routine to finish with a score of 66.600 overall.

“It is such a pleasure to compete with all the elite gymnasts,” Bezzoubenko said, “the audience was great in Berlin and even some of my fans from the World Cup in Spain were in attendance so that was a nice surprise! I enjoyed the moment of my clubs routine and will work on my routines as much as possible in the next week to finish the season as best I can.”

Uchida’s best performance of the weekend was also on the clubs, where she scored 15.950 points.  She also scored 14.100 in hoop, 15.200 in ball and 14.800 in ribbon to total 60.050 points.

Uchida is headed back to Canada to continue her training, while Bezzoubenko will head directly to Russia, where she will compete next weekend at the World Cup in Kazan.
