OTTAWA, June 6th 2016 – Diving Plongeon Canada (DPC) is excited to unveil its new project called Behind the Board, a four-show series featuring the country’s brightest diving stars. Developed and produced by DPC, in collaboration with Baslaw + Associates, the series will give behind the scenes access to viewers across the country. The first two episodes, “The Olympic Dream” and “Power vs Precision”, will air back-to-back on TSN1/3 June 7th at 10:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Behind the Board will combine coverage from DPC’s two international events, the Canada Cup FINA Diving Grand Prix (Gatineau, QC) and the FINA/NVC Diving World Series (Windsor, ON), and exclusive training footage of the national diving team as they strive to secure Olympic qualification.

The main protagonists of this 4-part series include all members of the FAB IV (Roseline Filion, Jennifer Abel, Meaghan Benfeito and Pamela Ware) and the emerging stars on the men’s side (Maxim Bouchard, François Imbeau-Dulac, Philippe Gagné and Vincent Riendeau). By following this group during their daily routines, and on the road for competitions, the audience will get to see what it takes to represent your country, and what is required to succeed on that level. Viewers will engage with these athletes on an emotional level, and gain an appreciation for what divers endure while chasing their Olympic dream.

Olympic medallists and Canadian diving legends, Alexandre Despatie and Blythe Hartley bring a unique perspective on the divers’ Olympic journey throughout the four shows. With their knowledge of the sport and their personal experiences as former athletes, Despatie and Hartley will help the viewers to understand the challenges that divers face during the Olympic Year.

“We are extremely proud of Behind the Board and we are excited to share this exclusive content with our fans across the country,” says Penny Joyce, COO of DPC. “Spectators will have access to our athletes like never before. They will see them through their ups and downs, their success and setbacks, only a few weeks before Rio 2016. We couldn’t have asked for a better partner than TSN, Canada’s #1 sports network, to share our content with as many viewers as possible.”

This partnership with Bell Media’s TSN is the third media agreement that DPC enters this year and will complement the existing deals with RDS and CBC / Radio-Canada. Detailed broadcast schedules for TSN are available online at http://www.tsn.ca/tv#/TSN1
