BC Rugby – 18 contest winners will participate in the Americas Rugby Championship this February in Langford and Burnaby, BC

Vancouver, BC – January 18, 2017: BC Rugby has chosen 18 winners between the ages of 13-18 to be ball boys and girls for the upcoming Americas Rugby Championship (ARC) matches held on February 4th, 11th and 18th, 2017. These ball boys and girls will ensure a smooth execution of each game and as a reward will each receive two free tickets to their participating matches, allowing friends and family to attend.

To enter, contestants were required to share any of the American Rugby Championship posts on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and confirmed their eligibility and availability through an online form. In order to be eligible to apply, individuals needed to be between the ages of 13-18, understand the laws of the game and be available for at least one of the ARC game dates. Furthermore, special consideration was given to applicants who completed the World Rugby’s Concussion Management module.

In addition to being a ball boy or girl, a select few will have the opportunity to be flag bearers at the event. Whether it’s cheering on Canada’s National Team or being able to contribute to the success of the games themselves, all the selected participants have shown incredible enthusiasm for this upcoming opportunity. As contest winner Maddie Pirie notes, “I am most excited to see the game up close and be able to be a part of it and help out! I am always looking to improve my game and I think that watching the national players would help quite a bit!”
