Atlantic Attack tops National Ringette League Elite Eight rankings
Ringette Canada – Ottawa, Ontario – January 12, 2017 – The National Ringette League (NRL) today announced its Elite Eight rankings, with the Atlantic Attack rising to the top spot in the league.
Atlantic Attack (1) won five of their last seven games to move from fifth place to first this month. Cambridge (2) maintained their second place ranking after winning three and dropping two since the last rankings. Richmond Hill Lightning (3) jumped from seventh place last month to third after winning three of their last five games.
Ottawa Ice (4) remain in fourth place this month, splitting their last six games. Waterloo Wildfire (5) rise one spot to fifth after winning two of their last three games. Calgary RATH (6) drop from third last month to sixth this month after splitting their last four games. Edmonton WAM! (7) fell from last month’s top spot to seventh with four wins and three losses. Previously unranked Gloucester Devils (8) round out this month’s rankings, winning five of their last eight games. Previously ranked Montreal Mission fall out of the rankings this month.

Cambridge Turbos currently hold the NRL Championship title after downing the Gloucester Devils 5-3 at the 2016 NRL Championship tournament final held in April 2016 in London, Ontario. This year’s NRL Championship tournament will be held in Leduc, Alberta from March 27 to April 1, 2017.
