Freestyle Canada – Aspen, Colorado, January 28, 2017 – Alex Beaulieu-Marchand left his mark on the 2017 Aspen X Games as he clinched bronze in the men’s slopestyle final. Alex has set the tone for the Canadian slopestyle team, as Kaya Turski looks to feed off his success in her return to the women’s X Games slopestyle.

Alex has had a great start to the season. He finished third at the season opening DewTour and has carried his momentum into today’s much-anticipated X Games slopestyle. Alex’s unique bag of tricks, which include a switch double bio 1260 and a double bio 1260, allowed him to stand out and reap the rewards.

‘‘ This is my first X Games podium. Mentally, I was stronger than I’ve ever been. I think that was the missing piece in years past. I now see that I can be successful…I had no doubt at the start that I was going to land my run…I’m really happy with where I’m at mentally, and ready for more success. ’’ said bronze medallist Alex Beaulieu-Marchand.

Teammate Evan McEachran finished 8th. Evan will regroup and hope to be inspired by his teammates’ success, as he heads into the next slopestyle event at Mammoth Mountain in early February.

The Canadian slopestyle team is back at it this tomorrow as Kaya Turski, the most dominant skier in women’s slopestyle’s history, makes her return to X Games slopestyle.
