Manitoba Badminton Association – Anil Kaul, Chris White, and Jaimie Dawson

Ottawa, June 25, 2017 – On Sunday June 25, 2017, Olympians Anil Kaul & Jaimie Dawson, and RBC employee Chris White were elected to the Badminton Canada Board of Directors, giving Manitoba strong leadership representation on the national level!

Anil Kaul, Badminton Canada President from 2015-17, and 2-time Olympian (Badminton, 1992 & 1996) brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the Board of Directors.  Highly respected, Anil has the full support of the BOD to continue to move Badminton Canada in the right direction.  Anil was President of the board that won the bid for Badminton Ontario/Canada to host the 2018 World Junior Badminton Championships in Markham, Ontario.

Jaimie Dawson is a 1996 Olympian (Badminton) who grew up training at the Winnipeg Winter Club, but has since moved to Calgary and is a Partner at Ernst & Young.  Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame recently announced that Jaimie Dawson will be inducted to the class of 2017 in November, and the Western Provinces have named the U15 Western Canadian Team Championships Cup the Dawson Cup in honor of his international achievements.  He has an outstanding amount of experience competing at the highest levels of badminton and will offer great insight to Badminton Canada’s high performance badminton.  With the addition of the Junior National team for the 2017-18 season, Jaimie will be a huge asset.

Chris White, is a National Masters Doubles Champion (40+), and recently moved from Nova Scotia to Manitoba where he is a Regional Manager of Sales Effectiveness for RBC.  Chris White brings both passion for badminton and professional experience through his time with RBC, and will apply his efforts to contribute to the betterment of badminton in Canada.

The Manitoba Badminton Association is proud to announce the current members of the Badminton Canada Board of Directors due to their strong reputation in our community and their loyalty to the growth of badminton.  We are looking forward to both encouraging and challenging them as we work together in the next couple years.
