Canada Soccer – Canada Soccer has announced the list of nominees for the 2017 Canada Soccer Player Awards, with voting open for media and coaches from 29 November through 7 December. At the top of the list are the nominees for the 2017 Canadian Players of the Year award, celebrating the top male and female footballers from the 2017 calendar season.

Media and coaches will vote on the two Canadian Players of the Year while coaches will also vote on the two Canadian U-20 Players of the Year and Canadian U-17 Players of the Year. There are 12 nominees from each of the Men’s National Team and Women’s National Team programs as well as six youth nominees from each of the U-20 and U-17 programs. Canada Soccer staff coaches will select the 2017 Canadian Para Soccer Player of the Year and the Canadian Futsal Player of the Year.

This marks the 25th year since the Canada Soccer Player Awards were introduced in 1993. The awards recognise player performances with both the national teams and respective club teams. Announcements for this year’s awards will run from 8-15 December.

Canadian soccer fans can vote for their top save of the year via CanadaSoccer.com from 20 November to 3 December. All fans who vote for their top save will have the opportunity to be entered to win a signed Canada Soccer jersey.
