Gymnastics Canada – RICHMOND, BC (June 12, 2018) – Media are invited to attend the 2018 Canadian Gymnaestrada running from Thursday, June 28th to Sunday, July 1st, 2018. The Richmond Oval will feature the opening ceremony on June 28th, and indoor performances on June 29th and 30th. The city performances will be part of the Richmond Canada Day and Steveston Salmon Festival on July 1st.
 
Hosted by Gymnastics Canada and their partners Destination BC and Richmond Sport Hosting, this non-competitive event brings together over 1100 Canadian performers from across Canada of all ages, genders, and abilities in a national celebration of gymnastics and movement. Performers will take part in this year’s theme, “Diversity through Movement” by showcasing traditional and non-traditional gymnastics routines.
 
WHAT: 2018 Canadian Gymnaestrada

  • Features performers from ages 7 to 75 from all across Canada.
  • A quadrennial event.
  • Performances will include traditional and non-traditional gymnastics routines.
  • The opening ceremony of the 2018 Canadian Gymnaestrada will feature many local Richmond performers and talent.
  • The Indoor showcase on Saturday night will feature some of the top performances from the event.
