Softball Canada – (Ottawa, ON) The Canadian Women’s National Team will hold a Selection Camp June 22-27 in Mississauga, Ont. with thirty-six (36) players from the Women’s National Team Athlete Pool invited to compete for a spot on the Women’s Team and Elite Team rosters.

The Selection Camp will include fitness testing, and intrasquad games scheduled for 3:00pm on Saturday June 24 and 3:00pm on Sunday June 25, both at Tom Chater Park in Mississauga, Ont. Intrasquad games are open to the public at no charge.

Following the selection camp, the coaching staff will select two teams – the Women’s National Team and the Women’s Elite team.

The Women’s National team will play an exhibition series against the Chicago Bandits of the National Pro Fastpitch League (NPF) in Chicago, Ill. on June 30 and July 1 followed by the US World Cup of Softball from July 5-9 in Oklahoma City. Both the Women’s National Team and the Elite team will then compete at the Canada Cup from July 11-17 in Surrey, B.C. The Women’s National Team will later take on the Akron Racers of the NPF on July 31 and August 1 in Akron, Ohio prior to competing in the WBSC Pan American Women’s Softball Championship, which is scheduled to take place August 4-13 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The team will later travel overseas to compete in the Japan Cup from August 25-28.
