Softball Canada – (Ottawa, ON) The Canadian Women’s National Team will hold a Selection Camp from June 22-27 in Mississauga, Ontario with twenty-nine (29) athletes invited to compete for a spot on the 2017 roster. Some athletes selected to the Junior Women’s National Team earlier in June will also be invited to attend the Women’s National Team Selection Camp.
 
Canada will field a pair of teams in 2017. The Women’s Team will compete in various events throughout the summer including the US World Cup of Softball (Oklahoma City, OK), the Canada Cup (Surrey, BC), the Pan American Championship (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) and the Japan Cup (Chiba, Japan). A newly formed Elite team will also compete in the Canada Cup, thanks to funding provided by Own the Podium.
 
Following the Selection Camp, the coaching staff will determine both the Women’s National Team and Elite team rosters, with the possibility of calling on Junior athletes to compete in select events.
