Bowls Canada Boulingrin – The 2017 Canadian Outdoor Singles Championships are about to begin at the Norwood Lawn Bowling Club and the Dakota Lawn Bowling Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Over 40 male and female bowlers from across Canada will compete in the week-long competition for the right to represent Canada at the 2018 World Champion of Champions event to be held at St. Johns Park Bowls Club in New South Wales, Australia.

This year’s competition will be extremely fierce in the men’s pool, with the defending champion Pat Bird eager to defend his 2016 title. 2015 champion and local favourite, John Bjornson, will also be looking to reclaim the top spot. The women’s field will see some strong competition as well, as 2016 champion Mary Wright will be on site looking to defend her title. 2016 silver medalist and current Junior champion Jordan Kos will also be looking to secure a gold medal. With many competitors fresh off of medal performances at the 2017 Canadian Lawn Bowling Championships, both the men’s and women’s fields are sure to be highly contested.

Play begins Tuesday, September 5th at 9:00am local time. Norwood LBC and Dakota LBC are located next door to each other, with the main address being 1212 Dakota Street.
