Softball Canada – (Ottawa, ON) The Canadian Men’s National Team will hold a Selection Camp from June 8-11 in Kitchener, Ont. with twenty (20) players from the Men’s National Team Athlete Pool invited to compete for a spot on the 2017 roster. Team Canada will be looking to defend their 2015 World title on home soil once again with the 2017 WBSC Men’s Softball World Championship scheduled to take place July 7-16 in Whitehorse, Yuk.
 
The Selection Camp will include physical and positional testing at Conestoga College in Kitchener and intrasquad games the evening of Friday June 9 and the afternoon of Saturday June 10 in Innerkip, Ont. Intrasquad games are open to the public at no charge.
 
Twelve (12) athletes have already been named core players of the team, leaving competition for the five (5) remaining roster spots.
 
Following the Selection Camp, the final roster will be named by June 13 and the selected athletes will regroup in Vancouver, B.C. on June 26 for training and will compete in the Vancouver Challenge from June 30 to July 2 prior to travelling to Whitehorse for the World Championship.
