Canada Modern Pentathalon – Modern Pentathlon at the Rio Olympics will be held over three days. Thursday, August 18 is Fencing for both Women and Men. Go to CBC.CA on Thursday at 9:00 am to see the Women’s Fencing Ranking Round (live online streaming). The Men’s starts at 1:30 pm.

MODERN PENTATHLON STARTS AUGUST 18

The women’s Modern Pentathlon competition begins with the Fencing ranking round on Thursday, August 18, at the Youth Arena. Friday, August 19, is the second day of competition, starting with the 200 metre Swim at the Deodoro Aquatics Centre. Competitors then move to the Deodoro Stadium for the Fencing bonus round and Equestrian Show Jumping before finishing the day with the Combined Running-Shooting event.

The men’s Modern Pentathlon Fencing ranking round is also on Thursday, but their final day of competition is Saturday, August 20.

The Combined Run/Shoot is not scheduled to start until 6:00 pm Rio de Janeiro time (5pm EST). With sunset at 5:37 pm, shooting conditions will be evening-like with additional lighting required. Here Donna and Team Germany are practising in the conditions they will face.
