Canadian Little League Championship – The round robin portion of the 2016 Little League Canadian Championship was completed on Wednesday, August 10th. There are 4 teams advancing to the semi-final games to be played at Hastings Community Park on Friday, August 12th as follows:

3:00pm: Hastings Community Little league (Host) vs Southwest Little League (Alberta)
6:00pm: Whalley Little League (BC) vs Diamond Baseball Academy LL (Quebec)

The 2 winning teams will play in the final championship game on Saturday, August 13th at 12:00pm. 

There is also a special Challenger game being played on Friday, August 12th at 12:00pm. Challenger Baseball is a program developed for children with physical and/or cognitive disabilities and is designed to allow all kids to play at a level structured to their abilities. The games are played in a fun and safe environment where no score is kept, and “buddies” are assigned to each Challenger player to assist with getting around the bases, hitting the ball and providing protection from a batted ball.

About the Tournament

The Little League Canadian Championship tournament was first played in 1951 and was last played in BC in 2011. A round robin series of three games will determine the four playoff teams followed by two semi-final elimination games and the final championship game on August 13th. About the Host – Hastings Community Little League

HCLL has operated since 1953 providing volunteer driven baseball programs for boys and girls aged 5 to 12 at Hastings Community Park. The boundaries for HCLL cover parts of East Vancouver and North Burnaby. Hastings Community Little League won the Canadian Little League Championship in both 2009 and 2012 and went on to represent Canada at the World Series.
