Manitoba Ringette Association – The Manitoba Ringette Association is proud to announce its 2016 Award Winners and Hall of Fame Inductees.

The 2016 Volunteer of the Year is Mark Ratz (Lorette).  Marks tireless efforts with the Lorette Ringette association has not gone unnoticed by those in the community. From coach, to administrator, to cheerleader Mark has spent countless hours dedicating himself to our sport.

The 2016 Coach of the year was awarded to two deserving coaches this year.  Dan Saltel – Head coach Dakota U16 A and, Spiros Kavvadas-head coach Bonivital Angels U14 AA.  Coaches of the Month awards went to Curtis Vezina (Heritage Victoria U14 B), Raeanne Wysocki (Dakota U16 A), Laura SImons (Dakota U16 A), and Sam Renooy (Wild U14 AA).

The Manitoba Ringette Association offers different programs to assist with post-secondary education.  The MRA Bursary program offers $500.00 to two athletes in the AA, A and B loop for a total of 6 bursaries.  This years recipients in the AA category are Felicia Daeninck (Bonivital) and Sarah Lazaruk (Transcona). We only have one recipient in the A category, Sam Green (Fort Garry). There were no recipients in the B category.  The MRA in partnership with High Five Inc. offer two scholarships, one to a rural athlete and one to an urban athlete, playing at any level. This years recipients are Morgan Van Deynze (Portage), and Cami Daeninck (Bonivital). 

The Manitoba Ringette Association is honoring 5 inductees into the Hall of Fame this season. Amy Clarkson (St. Andrews), and Lindsay Burns (Winnipeg Beach in the Player category.  These players have incredible accomplishments attached to their names.  They are silver medalists with Team Canada, multiple medals at a National Level, and have all given numerous hours of time back to the sport.  The other three inductees into the Hall of Fame are Joan Lachance (Transcona), Don Kozun (Bonivital) and Jackie Bohemier (Lorette) in the builder category.  These individuals have given their heart and soul to the sport of Ringette all  for over 20 years.  As board members, coaches, managers, minor officials, on ice officials, players and any other role that needed to be filled. 

We welcome these four inductees into our Hall of Fame and congratulate all our award winners.
