Canada Basketball – EDMONTON, AB (July 25, 2018) – Canada Basketball announced today the 12 athletes who will represent Canada in a four-game Asia Exhibition series in China and Japan from August 1-7.

As preparations continue ahead of the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2018, Canada will face 10th ranked China and 13th ranked Japan.  At the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2017, Japan (champions) and China (3rdplace) both qualified for this September’s World Cup. 

Steve Baur (Canada Basketball) will assume head coaching duties for the series and will be joined by fellow assistant Carly Clarke (Ryerson University).

Training camp is closed to the public. Media are invited to post-practice scrums on the following dates:

Thursday, July 26

11:15 a.m. Gym Opens
11:35 a.m. Availability

Friday, July 27

10:50 a.m. Gym Opens
11:10 a.m. Availability

Canada is currently ranked a program-high 5th in the FIBA World ranking presented by Nike.
