Senior Accounting Technician

 Immediate superior: Manager -Administrative services 

Job Description: 

Reporting to the Manager – Administrative services and collaborating with the accounting team, the Senior Accounting Technician assumes responsibilities related to the completion of the accounting cycle, i.e., all the stages of accounting and administration of the organization’s operations. He/she will be called upon to participate proactively in the analysis, review, design and improvement of administrative and accounting tools and processes.

The Senior Accounting Technician will process accounts payable, bank reconciliations, month-end entries, periodical closing of the books, government remittances, and the preparation of documents for the
interim and annual audit. He/she will help support the manager of administrative services in various analyses and budget monitoring. He/she will also contribute to the optimization of accounting software, tools, databases and procedures while ensuring sound management of documentation. The incumbent
of this position will also provide support in the production of financial statements and ensure the resolution of front-line accounting problems with internal clients while maintaining good relations with them, as well as with external clients and suppliers. He/she will be called upon to work closely with the human resources team in carrying out administrative tasks related to payroll processing. As needed, he/she will participate in payroll management and processing and may assist the manager in carrying out all of his/her tasks and deliverables.

Requirements:

We are looking for a proactive, autonomous person who has a great sense of collaboration, ethics and confidentiality. The candidate must also demonstrate a great capacity for problem solving, rigor and excellent organizational skills (respect of deadlines, efficiency, sense of priorities). He/she must have a college diploma (DEC) in accounting. A bachelor’s degree in accounting will be considered an asset. He/she must demonstrate a minimum experience of five (5) years in a similar position. An excellent command of various office tools and software (Microsoft Office 365 Suite; preferably an advanced level in Excel, SharePoint and Teams: an asset) and accounting software is required (Acomba: an asset). Good competencies of oral and written French as well as functional bilingualism required, both oral and written
