Position Level: One-Year Contract

Sport4Ontario is a not-for-profit sport corporation dedicated to the promotion of sport and physical activity in Ontario. Sport4Ontario is embarking on a new and innovative track to support the Ontario sport sector with an emphasis on the recovery and sustainability of safe sport. The organization is governed by a newly voted in volunteer Board of Directors and the board operates under the collaborative model with common principles and frameworks.

Sport4Ontario has provided the collaborative environment, knowledge, and resources to build capacity and drive leadership excellence in the Ontario sport community. Sport4Ontario also oversees the National Sport Trust Fund – Ontario. This initiative allows PSOs, MSOs, and their members to establish revenue generation programs for which charitable tax receipts are provided for qualifying donations (recognized by the CRA)

Purpose of Position

The Manager, Programs & Partnerships is responsible for the day-to-day creation and execution of program initiatives that will bring a new strategic plan and integrated marketing campaign to life working closely with the Managing Director, Board Members and Agency.

The successful candidate will have experience working with PSOs, MSOs, community groups, foundations, trusts, corporations, school sport organizations, the professional sport sector, in working with the Managing Director to establish strong relationships and partnerships.


Work with the Managing Director in the following areas:

Safe Sport Strategy

o Amplify return to play health and safe protocols

o Build a plan to promote Rowan’s Law

o Integrate mental health awareness program strategies for the sport sector

o Build integrated strategies for sport in the areas of diversity and inclusion, women in sport and the prevention of harassment, abuse and racism

Grassroots Recovery System

o Promote return to sprot marketing awareness campaign

o Lead and conduct research on sprot participation focused on return to sport

Leveraging Partnerships

o Develop partnerships with Foundations in Ontario including those affiliated with professional sport franchise to amplify our reach and grow our resources

Skills & Qualifications

Strategic & Results Focus

o Proven ability to develop innovative solutions and concrete marketing strategies and plans that create value for key stakeholders and sport participants that deliver on measurable KPIs

o Strong analytical skills including financial management, interpreting research studies and data for strategic insights, and campaign results measurements

Building Strategic Relationships

o Work with Managing Director in proactively sourcing new prospective partners that align with our strategic goals and objectives

o Strong ability to build strategic relationships with key stakeholders and influencers

(PSOs, MSOs, community groups, MLSE Foundation, Jays Care, Jump Start, athletes, etc..) to help achieve goals and objectives

o Day-to-day agency liaison


o Exceptional written & verbal communication and presentation skills

o Strong conceptual abilities and excellent perseverance to solve problems and adapt solutions across a wide range of communications and implementation challenges

Other Skills

o Strong knowledge of PSO, MSO, community groups and grassroots landscape

o Experience with writing and applying for grants

o Strong ability to design & build sponsorship/partnership proposals in PowerPoint

o Proactively takes initiative with the ability to work effectively and independently, within tight deadlines and able to adapt to changing deadlines.

o Ability to prioritize multiple deliverables.

o Excellent organizational skills with proficient knowledge of project management, advertising communication production, and event planning

o Knowledge of sponsorship industry trends, developments, and opportunities.


o A post-secondary education, preferably in business/sport management

o 5+ years of experience working in a non-profit, community group, PSO or NSO environment

o Experience in building and executing partnership initiatives

o Experience is coordinating and executing virtual events and meetings

o Experience in event planning
