The Lifeguard/Instructor performs as a professional team player in providing the best aquatic recreational service to the community. Under the direction of the Head Guard, Head Instructor and/or designate, the Lifeguard/Instructor provides supervision and performs lifeguard and instructional duties to ensure
patron safety.

The Lifeguard/Instructor provides supervision of the entire aquatic area (pools, deck, changerooms, steam room, sauna, gym, and viewing areas) as well as provides assistance with the operation and delivery on aquatic and recreation programs, swim meets, and special events. The Lifeguard/Instructor
is positive and responsive when dealing with the public and user groups, including varsity, sport and/or club teams, the National Swim Center, student users, rental groups, and members of the community. He/She will perform a variety of custodial and facility maintenance tasks, and possess a basic
knowledge of pool chemistry and operating procedures.

Shift work is required for this position, including mornings, evenings, and weekends
