The successful candidate will get the chance to have an in-depth look at how a professional golf tournament is organized and how they come together before being televised! You will have the chance to meet and interact with Golf Canada staff members and tournament organizers as
we all work together to build these major sporting events.

Job Description:
The successful applicant will work closely with Premier’s Operations Team on-site at the three professional golf championships in Canada to build hospitality venues and other infrastructure necessary for the events success. This year the three championships will be hosted in the following markets:

  • 2023 RBC Canadian Open- Oakdale Golf & Country Club in Toronto, ON
  • 2023 Shaw Charity Classic-Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club in Calgary, AB 2023 Canadian Pacific Women’s Open- Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club in Vancouver, BC

Main Duties:

  • Travel to each tournament venue to help with set-up/tear down duties including:

o   Tenting installation

o   Building elevated deck flooring systems & at-grade plank and plywood

o   Helping to lay carpet on scaffold platforms and Premier’s flooring systems

o   Setting up temporary white vinyl picket fencing

o   Handling/delivering/set-up of rented furnishings for each area

o   Other duties as assigned

  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its Regulations, as well as all internal health and safety policies and procedures
  • Effectively communicate any safety-related issues immediately to crew leaders, workers, and
    company management
  • Work alongside staff to promote and maintain positive workplace safety awareness and practices

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  •    Manual labour and heavy lifting is a part of the job- successful candidate must be in good physical heath
  • Basic knowledge in the different types and uses of household power tools
  • Basic knowledge of the game of golf with some golf course etiquette knowledge (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  •  A mature attitude to foster a cooperative and safe working environment

Accommodations:

  •   Accommodations will be provided for the month of July/August during the period of the Shaw Charity Classic & CP Women’s Open in Calgary/Vancouver.
    •  Successful candidate will receive travel, housing and per diems during these events.
  • However, NO accommodations will be provided during the weeks working at Oakdale Golf & Country Club in Toronto as this is considered a home-based event.

Travel:

  • Travel is required throughout the term of employment in this position
  •  For 10-12 weeks (April- early July) the successful candidate will work out of Toronto at Oakdale Golf & Country Club to help with setup and tear down of the RBC Canadian Open
  •         For 4-5 weeks (end of July to end of August) the successful applicant will travel to Calgary, AB to work on-site at the Shaw Charity Classic at Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club.

    o   Successful candidates will be housed in Calgary for the duration of the event set-up and tear down period. Exact date of return will be confirmed at a later time but is expected to be near the end of August. Some crew members will complete setup in Calgary and head directly to Vancouver to help with the CP Women’s Open setup.

    ·       For 4-5 weeks (end of July to end of August) the successful applicant will travel to Vancouver, BC to work on-site at the CP Women’s Open at Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club.

    o   Successful candidates will be housed in Vancouver for the duration of the event set-up and
    tear down period. Exact date of return will be confirmed at a later time but is expected to be near the end of August/Early September.
