Expressions of Interest – Canadian Sport Institute Calgary Board of Directors
Canadian Sport Institute Calgary seeks “expressions of interest” from individuals interested in serving on the CSI Calgary Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is elected to offer forward guidance and oversee the activities of the CSI Calgary. The Board’s activities are determined by the powers, duties, and responsibilities delegated to it as detailed in the CSI Calgary Bylaws. The Board, in composite, must have a range of skills, knowledge and attributes and to ensure this, we use a skills matrix approach to seeking new Board members. Diversity, inclusion and adherence to safe sport principles are important selection factors.
A strong interest and passion for sport is essential. As well good knowledge of Canadian Olympic/Paralympic sport is important as is past experience with a sport organization and/or not for profit Board experience.
CSI Calgary Board members must have a clear understanding of, and competence to deal with, the current and emerging issues of the core business (and related businesses) and can effectively review and challenge the performance of management and exercise independent judgement.
