Canada Soccer is seeking a dynamic individual with a passion for event management to join the Events Department to assist with the planning and execution of a variety of international and national events alongside providing administrative support Canada’s professional Clubs and competitions. The focus of this position will be to support events including National Team home matches and the Canadian Championship, Canada’s highest domestic Club Competition. Tasks and responsibilities will include coordinating logistics, travel, maintaining operational databases and documents, preparing packages and documents for stakeholders and providing general administrative support to the organization. 


As part of the Event Management Unit, the Coordinator will perform the following related tasks but are not restricted to: 

·       Provides logistical services and support to all Canada Soccer programs including shipping, accommodations, and transportation arrangements

·       Maintains the events equipment inventory and storage at the Ottawa warehouse 

·       Supports national team events in respect of stadia and training facilities to deliver international matches incorporating the logistical support required/requested by all departments

·       Ensures match operation requirements are in place

·       Coordinates the National Team volunteer and youth protocol program, including volunteer and participant recruitment, training, and management

·       Delivers the accreditation program for all National Team matches hosted in Canada and corresponds with all third parties for this arrangement

·       Provides support as required to visiting international teams, match officials and other stakeholders for International matches hosted in Canada

·       Administers the online match reporting system for the Professional League and competitions and becomes an expert in the application, providing troubleshooting for all users

·       Assists with annual player registration for professional and semi-professional clubs

·       Supports the disciplinary administrative process, maintaining disciplinary records and notices under guidance from the Chair of the Canada Soccer Disciplinary Committee and Case Managers

·      Update event management handbook, SharePoint site, PowerPoints, templates, and other operational documents on an ongoing basis

·       Supports the competition requirements for Canadian Championship Matches, including but not limited to:; coordinating all internal functional areas as it relates to staging of matches, liaising with participating clubs, supporting clubs in their hosting preparations, providing the overall administrative support for the Competition

·       Provide general administrative support to Professional Clubs in Membership of Canada Soccer inside and outside of competitions

·       Supports Canada Soccer’s National Professional Club Licensing Program, including the annual preparation and distribution of the application packages

·      Prepare briefings and meeting minutes for department meetings

·      May be required to work weekends and extended hours during busy periods. Travel will be required

·      Respond to general public inquiries regarding upcoming events

·      Provide general administrative support for Events team as required 



  • University degree or college diploma in management and administration, recreation or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 2-3 years experience in sports administration

·      Strong verbal and written communication skills

·      Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail

·       Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

·       Demonstrated experience of working with and supporting volunteers

·       Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative to complete projects

·       Strong professionalism and confidentiality skills

·       Demonstrated problem solving skills, ability to be creative when presented with a problem

·       Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic team

·       A valid driver’s license is required


  • League/club administration experience

·      Bilingualism would be considered an asset for this position

  • Knowledge of the Canadian Soccer Structure Nationally and Provincially
