Reporting to the Deputy CAO, the Director of Sport provides senior level leadership to the Sport Division, and the municipality, in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a wide variety of sport-related programs, services and facilities – including The Aud, six community arenas, four indoor and four outdoor pools, Budd Park, two golf courses and a sport development team that supports over 40 different affiliated sport groups.  With more than 400 full and part-time staff and an annual budget of over $15M, the Director provides the municipality with vision, leadership and strategies to ensure its sports programs, assets and investments contribute to a healthy, safe and equitable community. Through a strong commitment to community engagement and partnerships, the Director oversees a program delivery model that is founded on mutually beneficial partnerships with a wide variety of sport groups while also being financially sustainable.

With your degree and more than 10 years of relevant senior experience, you have led unionized teams in similarly complex organizations. Your passion for, and understanding of sport, as well as your commitment to serving the community through outstanding customer service set you apart. You have significant experience with sport facility development and management and are a community builder who is passionate about promoting opportunities for sport in Kitchener. Known as a forward-thinking relationship builder, you are ready to be part of this innovative city.
