Coordinator, Mission Services
Overview of the Position
The Coordinator, Mission Services is responsible to assist the Manager, Athlete Services to provide timely and accurate information from all areas of the Host Society to each of the 13 Provinces and Territories (P/Ts) in the Games, and to communicate questions and concerns from the P/Ts to the rest of the organization. The Coordinator will lead two Chefs de Mission Conferences, as well as regular Chefs de Mission Calls, and planning for the Mission Secretariat at Games-time.
The Coordinator will also work closely with the volunteer Chair, Mission Services, and Games-time support volunteers to safely plan and service all Chefs de Mission and their Mission Staffs, in their offices, around the Athletes Village, and throughout the Games footprint. They will be the key staff person for all of the P/T delegations in the planning, delivery, and execution of their Games-time work.
The Coordinator will also oversee the non-competitor accommodations functional area. This area ensures all Games Family have accommodations for their stay in the Niagara Region. The Coordinator will use project management skills to manage relationships and contracts with hotels.

The 2021 Canada Games Host Society has applied for a grant through the Ontario Job Creation Partnership program to help cover some of the employment costs associated with this position. Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following criteria to be eligible as an OJCP participant:
Be unemployed (or working less than an average of 20 hours per week) and be a resident of Ontario, Canadian Citizen or permanent resident
Have an active EI claim; or
Have had an EI benefit period that ended within the previous 60 months; or
Have paid employee premiums in at least 5 of the previous 10 years
