The Prince Edward Island 2023 Canada Games Host Society is looking to fill the position of Coordinator, Digital Marketing.

As a province known for its hospitality, we’re excited to welcome the 2023 Canada Winter Games to Prince Edward Island. From February 18 – March 5, 2023, the Games will bring together over 3,600 athletes, managers and coaches, across 20 different sports, for the largest multi-sport event in the country. With a forecasted economic impact of over $100 million, the 29th edition of the Canada Games will be the largest event hosted in Prince Edward Island’s history.


This role will be responsible for the successful delivery of our digital marketing initiatives, including website management and development, newsletter design and execution, monitoring analytics, monitoring media coverage, and video/photography/design support. This role will also assist the broadcast team with digital marketing needs.



  • Ongoing monitoring and execution of site-wide website updates, including images, copy edits, and maintenance of two-phased approach (a) Pre-Games information, storytelling, merchandise sales, ticketing, and (b) Games-time with results platform and broadcast integrated;

  • Monthly analysis and reporting of website and social media performance metrics and valuable insights;

  • Assist with the development, execution, and monitoring of a new broadcast streaming website;

  • Supporting overall Broadcast/Streaming plan including awareness campaign rollout and identification of on air talent;


  • Designing and deploying regular email communications through MailChimp including customer segmentation and content planning;

  • Managing audience database, tags, subscriptions, and working closely with Volunteer Services to manage volunteer specific email subscriptions;

Video/Photography/Design support

  • Oversee photography and videography initiatives; Manage visual content databases including PhotoShelter Digital Asset Management;

  • Graphic design of social media posts & marketing requests as required;

Other Responsibilities

  • Being a fully engaged team member with a goal of positive and healthy relationships in the workplace;

  • Executing all responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner, while staying consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Prince Edward Island 2023 Canada Winter Games;

  • Other duties as reasonably required. Due to the nature of our organization, and especially during the time leading up to, and during the actual Games, all staff will be required to act in capacities beyond their formal job description. These will always be reasonable, however, the expectation is that staff will step up in ways that may not normally be expected of them.


  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Working conditions: sitting, using a computer, and repetitive motions over extended periods of time

  • Applicants must be, or scheduled to be, fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to their start date


  • Full Time:  40 – 48 hours per work week.

  • Additional hours, or time outside of the normal work hours, may be required in order to meet operational requirements of the 2023 Canada Winter Games.

This is a contract position, until March 2023.
