Overview of the Position
The Coordinator of Digital and Social Content will be integral in building local, provincial, and national awareness and engagement of the 2025 Canada Summer Games by supporting the creation and development of communications strategies and plans related to the Host Society’s brand, marketing, community relations, and overall profile building.
Key Responsibilities
This role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Participating in the planning, optimization, and execution of the 2025 Canada Summer Games social media strategy, including:
- Contributing to the development of social media content calendars;
- Providing ongoing written and visual content strategies, including drafting and publishing for social media;
- Coordinating and overseeing paid digital campaigns and live event coverage;
- Collaborating with partners and stakeholders to effectively build brand advocacy;
- Providing ongoing monitoring and engagement with social audiences;
- Compiling monthly analysis and ad-hoc reporting of digital and social performance metrics and insights.
- Designing and deploying regular email communications;
- Developing and executing photography/videography strategy and initiatives;
- Managing visual content databases;
- Assisting with organizing media and broadcast centres at various Games venues;
- Coordinating the hosting needs of media and broadcasters during the Games, including refining the accreditation process;
- Being a fully engaged team member with a goal of positive and healthy relationships in the workplace;
- Executing all responsibilities in a manner which is consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the 2025 Canada Summer Games;
- Fulfilling all other duties as reasonably required.
Education/Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Sport Management, or other related field;
- Minimum three (3) years of related work experience or a combined equivalent of education and work experience
Qualifications
- Exceptional copywriting and editing skills;
- Expertise in multiple social media platforms and a keen awareness of emerging trends and technologies;
- Creative, results-oriented, and able to deliver on deadlines;
- Experience with Google’s G Suite programs (e.g. Gmail, Docs, Slides, Calendar, etc.);
- Knowledge and experience working in a not-for-profit, events, or multi-sport Games environment;
- Experience with managing/supervising employees/teams;
- Flexible and strong team orientation and management style;
- Ability to liaise and interact with multiple partners both locally and nationally.
Other
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset;
- Based on position requirements, flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Conditions of Employment
- Office hours are 35 to 40 hours per week;
