Split Second Basketball (SSB) is a growing youth basketball development organization that is looking to add a strong member to its great team of coaches. We are searching for a skilled and knowledgeable basketball coach who is energetic, self-directed and responsible for a Youth Basketball Coaching position.

We expect this position to coach (both head and assistant coaching) approximately 25-30 hours a week, working primarily with Girls programs and teams, and be available for approximately 10-15 hours a week in business support.

  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication with solid organization skills

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist in the management, coordination and execution of Split Second Programs for all ages, genders and skill levels. Includes but not limited to:

    • Organizing lesson plans and preparing for practices

    • Facilitate and teach individual skills and team concepts

    • Ensure proper conduct of players

    • Communicate administrative issues to Split Second Basketball Administrators

    • Work with Split Second Administrators and coaches to find solutions to issues that arise with teams and programs

  • Assist in daily operations of Split Second Basketball. Includes but not limited to:

    • Communications to athletes, coaches, administrators, and others within Split Second

    • Work with Split Second on special marketing and programming projects

    • Assist with delivery, storage and inventory of all necessary equipment and merchandise

  • Coach and travel with Split Second Basketball teams to games and tournaments

  • Attend all necessary Split Second Basketball meetings

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous coaching experience at the post secondary level, provincial level or equivalent

  • 3-5+ years of coaching experience

  • Has a valid driver’s license and vehicle for transportation

  • Experience coaching high performance and youth basketball

  • Experience coaching female basketball teams and/or training sessions

  • Caring, energetic and enthusiastic attitude who is willing to learn and share coaching ideas

  • Has a demonstrated track record of, and is committed to professional development as a coach and leader

Salary starting range of $40,000-$60,000 based upon applicant qualifications and experience.
