Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Game Plan Advisor, the Coordinator, Athlete Services at the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario (CSIO) ensures a seamless and unencumbered registration processes and access to CSIO’s programs and services for Ontario and Canada’s carded athletes. They work closely with Athlete Services personnel across the Canadian Olympic Paralympic Sport Institute Network (COPSIN) to implement best practices at CSIO. Striving for excellence in every interaction, the coordinator reflects CSIO’s commitment to athlete support, health and well-being.
Position Responsibilities
Registration
- Responsible for the management of Athlete Database/s, including maintenance of the athlete registration database, troubleshooting, athlete and coach user inquiries, and statistical reporting
- Ensure all athletes and coaches have completed the registration process and onboarding prior to accessing CSIO facilities or services
- Provide recommendations to the Game Plan Advisor on registration process enhancements and initiatives
Athlete Services
- Monitor and respond to requests from targeted athletes and coaches to access CSIO’s Athlete Services program, including (but not limited to) nutrition, mental performance / psychology, CAIP and fitness re-imbursements.
- Consult the Performance Services team to access practitioners who are best suited to fulfil service requests from athletes.
- Schedule regular visits to CSIO Regional facilities to conduct onboarding and other functions of the roleas required.
- Be responsible for the Athlete Lounge(s) at CSIO facilities ensuring they are stocked and equipped with appropriate items to welcome athletes at CSIO Daily Training Environments.
- Track and Monitor assets and inventory associated with Athlete Loung(s) and Athlete Kit.
- Support the Game Plan Advisor in the tracking and monitoring of the Athlete Services Program budget.
- Conduct the annual Athlete Benefits and Services Survey gathering feedback on services, partnerships, lounge and facility access available to targeted athletes, reporting findings and recommendations to the Game Plan Advisor.
- Collaborate with Athlete Services personnel across Canadian Olympic Paralympic Sport Institute Network (COPSIN) to coordinate services for dual training environment or provincial transfer athletes.
- Collaborate with Athlete Services personnel across COPSIN to ensure best practices are in action at the CSIO.
- Collaborate with COPSIN and CSIO’s Senior Management Team to prepare the COPSIN Annual Inventory and ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Communications & Marketing to manage an up-to-date and athlete-facing database of community partners.
- Oversee the Pan Am Games Legacy Housing program and inventory.
Game Plan
- Responsible for the capture of critical data related to Game Plan events and interactions, maintaining accurate records for the purposes of
- Responsible for maintaining a list of federally carded athletes by Sport Canada, including monthly registration database updates, communication of carding changes to CSIO stakeholders, and communication with Athletes related to AAP Carding status.
- Assist the Game Plan Advisor in planning and executing Game Plan events in Ontario, including (but not limited to) Game Plan Day in Canada, Bell Let’s Talk Day and various workshops/webinars.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Business Administration or related field of study.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a high-performance sport or comparable environment.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Database Management skills an asset (Salesforce, MS Xcel)
- Knowledge of the Canadian Sport System.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with individuals at all levels.
- Strong organizational, time management and administrative skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a high degree of independence, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
- Sound professional judgment, initiative, and the ability to work well under pressure.
