Swim Nova Scotia – Montreal, QC – Eight of Nova Scotia’s top swimmers are now competing at the 2017 Canadian Swimming Championships in Montreal, Quebec. The competition is taking place at Montreal’s Olympic Park Sports Centre through Monday August 7th.

Dartmouth Crusader swimmer, Brett Liem earned himself a spot in the A final, where he finished ninth in the men’s 50m Freestyle with a 23.55.  During the preliminaries, Brett tied the current Senior Men’s Nova Scotia Provincial Record with a time of 23.43.

Other top swims of the day included Natasha Sexton Quillian of the Sackville Waves Aquatic Team, who finished fourth in the Para Women’s S10 400m Freestyle with a time of 5:37.11; she also competed in the Para Women’s S10 50m Freestyle where she finished 10th with a 33.33.  Halifax Trojan swimmer, Gavin Dyke, finished 20th in the men’s 50m Freestyle with a time of 24.39.

The Canadian Swimming Championships are a senior national championship meet.  This is a high-level meet that features Canada’s recent World Championships team members competing alongside the next generation of Canadian swimmers.

Prelims begin at 10:00am daily and finals will begin at 6:00pm local time.

Swim Nova Scotia – Edmonton, AB- 15 of Nova Scotia’s top swimmers are now competing at the 2016 Canadian Swimming Championships in Edmonton, Alberta. The competition is taking place at the Kinsmen Sports Center through to Sunday August 7th.

Halifax Trojan swimmers Jade Hannah and Sarah Polley earned themselves spots in the A finals during the first day of competition; Jade finished sixth in the women’s 200m Backstroke with a time of 2:17.56, while teammate Sarah Polley finished seventh in the same event with a 2:17.78.  Sarah also finished seventh in the women’s 50m Freestyle with a time of 26.65.
