Alpine Canada – Mont-Tremblant, QC (March 27, 2017) – The 2017 Sports Experts National Championships continue in Mont-Tremblant (QC). Despite drizzling rain, the course crew and ROC did a fantastic job in getting both slalom runs off today and a Canadian National slalom champion was named.

Toronto’s Phil Brown nailed his first run, putting up the fastest time. Brown went into the second run with a 0.45 second lead, however a costly mistake on the first pitch took away his speed and he was bumped into third-place. Brown had the best Canadian time of the day (2.06.27), 0.85 seconds off the leading time.

American athletes took the first and second-place spots in today’s races.

AJ Ginnis took the Canadian Champion slalom title with a time of 2.05.52 and Michael Ankeny finished in second-place with a time of 2.06.16.

Canadian Alpine Ski Team athletes held onto top-ten finishes with Sam Mulligan finishing in fifth-place and claiming the junior win. Mulligan laid down a solid second run to move up six spots after the first run. Jeffrey Read and Huston Philp finished in seventh and eighth-place respectively.
