(CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I.)  BC erased an early deficit and battled back to defeat Quebec 58-47 to claim gold at the 2022 Junior National Championship Sunday in Charlottetown. As a result, BC will be the top-seeded team heading into the 2023 Canada Games next February. 

BC, who went undefeated in Charlottetown, was paced by Gabe Harrison’s team-high 17 points. Collin Lalonde had a game-high 19 points for Quebec in the loss.  

The athletes representing New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island won bronze with a 71-50 victory over Alberta.

The three-day tournament was co-hosted by Wheelchair Basketball Canada and ParaSports and Recreation PEI and featured the top junior wheelchair basketball athletes in Canada. This was a seeding tournament and a test event for the 2023 Canada Games in P.E.I. (Feb. 18-Mar. 5, 2023).

(CHARLOTTETOWN, Î.-P.-É. La Colombie-Britannique a effacé un déficit antérieur et s’est démenée pour vaincre le Québec 58-47 et, ainsi, remporter l’or au Championnat national junior 2022, dimanche, à Charlottetown. Par conséquent, la Colombie-Britannique sera l’équipe la mieux classée à l’approche des Jeux du Canada 2023, en février prochain. 

La C.-B. est restée invaincue à Charlottetown, grâce aux 17 points de Gabe Harrison, le nombre de points le plus élevé de son équipe. Collin Lalonde a inscrit 19 points pour le Québec dans la défaite.  

Les athlètes représentant le Nouveau-Brunswick et l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard ont remporté la médaille de bronze, 71-50, contre l’Alberta.

Le tournoi de trois jours était organisé conjointement par Basketball en fauteuil roulant Canada et ParaSports and Recreation PEI et mettait en vedette les meilleurs athlètes juniors de basketball en fauteuil roulant au Canada. L’événement a servi de tournoi de sélection et de compétition préparatoire pour les Jeux du Canada de 2023, à l’Î.-P.-É. (du 18 février au 5 mars 2023).
