U SPORTS Rugby Athlete Suspended for the Presence of Cathine

Ottawa – May 24, 2022 – The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) announced today that Alisha Geier, a U SPORTS rugby athlete affiliated with Wilfred Laurier University, received a six-month sanction for an anti-doping rule violation. The athlete’s urine sample, collected during in-competition doping control on October 1, 2021, revealed the presence of cathine, a prohibited specified stimulant.

Ottawa – le 24 mai 2022 – Le Centre canadien pour l’éthique dans le sport (CCES) a annoncé aujourd’hui qu’Alisha Geier, une athlète de rugby affiliée à l’Université Wilfred Laurier, s’est vu imposer une suspension de six mois pour une violation des règles antidopage. L’échantillon d’urine de l’athlète, prélevé dans le cadre d’un contrôle du dopage en compétition le 1er octobre 2021, a révélé la présence de cathine, un stimulant spécifié interdit.
