Ringette Canada – Leduc, Alberta – March 31, 2017 – Atlantic Attack beat Edmonton WAM! 9-4 to finish round-robin play in first place in the National Ringette League (NRL) division at the 2017 Freson Bros. Canadian ringette championships today. This earned the Attack a bye to the gold-medal final tomorrow, where they will meet the Cambridge Turbos. The Turbos beat Waterloo Wildfire 6-2 in the bronze-medal final.

In the U16 division, New Brunswick beat previously undefeated Central Alberta Sting 8-2 in the semi-finals to put them in the gold-medal final tomorrow. They will meet the Cambridge Turbos, who beat Alberta (Calgary PACE) 4-3 in the other championship Central Alberta Sting will meet Alberta (Calgary PACE) to play for bronze. Zone 5 Pack (AB) will play Manitoba Magic in the consolation round final tomorrow.

In the U19 division, Manitoba (BVRA Angels) continued their winning streak beating Nova Scotia 5-2 in the quarter-finals and St. Albert Mission (AB) 8-3 in the semi-finals to put them in tomorrow’s gold-medal final. They will meet Rive-Sud (QC) who beat Richmond Hill 6-5 in overtime in the quarter-final and downed Alberta (Calgary) in the semi-finals. St. Albert Mission (AB) will play Alberta (Calgary) for bronze. Central Alberta Sting will play Québec (Outaouais Extrême) in the consolation round final tomorrow.

Games have been taking place at the Leduc Recreation Centre, the Ken Nichol Regional Recreation Centre in Beaumont, and the Dale Fisher Arena in Devon. Finals will be held at the Leduc Recreation Centre on Saturday, April 1 (U16 at 9:30 MDT, U19 at 11:30 MDT and NRL at 13:30 MDT). All-stars and the NRL Annual Awards will be announced at the closing award ceremony on Saturday night.
