Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs)

MOOC logosMOOCs are free non-credited online courses offered conjointly through the Université Laval and the University of Calgary.

Led by Dr. Kathryn Schneider and Dr. Pierre Frémont, the concussion MOOCs are available to anyone and provide individuals with credible concussion information, including how they can help identify, manage, and prevent these injuries.

Concussion Awareness Training Tool (CATT)

CATT logoA series of online educational modules aimed at educating coaches, athletes, parents, and more about recognizing, treating and managing concussion and ultimately reduce the risk of long-term health issues.

Developed by Dr. Shelina Babul, Associate Director/Sports Injury Specialist with the BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit, BC Children’s Hospital, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, CATT is based on the principles of the Consensus Statement on Concussion in Sport.


Ottawa Sport Council: Concussion Education Initiative

This educational video is designed to equip coaches, players, parents, board members, staff, and volunteers alike with the knowledge of how to apply the 4 R’s of concussion management in a sport setting.  Developed in partnership with Parachute Canada and SIRC thanks to a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the information provided in this video aligns with the Canadian Harmonized Concussion Protocol (which is recognized by Sport Canada and is also Rowan’s Law compliant) and presents valuable information about concussion signs and symptoms. 


Sport Physiotherapy Canada

SPC established a Concussion Committee to help share and provide education and latest findings around the topic of concussion. Their microsite, Locker Room Talk: Everything Concussion for the Physiotherapist, Athlete, Coach and Parent, is updated regularly with new content:


Government of Ontario

As a leader in concussion awareness and safety, the Province of Ontario has set specific guidelines and requirements for sport organizations and school boards to keep athletes safe from concussions. In addition, the province provides concussion guidelines for students and athletes.
