Canada Running Series is excited to hire a professional, self-motivated individual who works well both individually and with a team. This role will have a focus on our course operations and logistics. The successful candidate will prioritize tasks to meet timelines and will routinely review & adjust processes to increase efficiencies.
CRS Logistics and Course Specialist (including, but not limited to):
-Take on a key role with the operations team for the planning and delivery of following CRS West events:
Scotiabank Vancouver Half Marathon & 5k – June 28, 2020
Seawheeze – August 15, 2020
Under Armour Eastside 10k- September 19, 2020
-Responsible for all technical aspects of the Event course(s), including but not limited to Traffic Management Plan, Police, Marshals, Water Stations, Cheer Stations, Zone Directors, Course Measurement and the Certification and Sanctioning of the events.
-Responsible for the waste management plans on course and in collaboration with the Manager of Operations, the waste management plan at all event venues.
-Represent CRS and develop a positive, partnering relationship with key stakeholders (Suppliers, Police, City, etc.).
-Responsible for the communication and planning of road closure and event impact to all major stakeholders, the public and those impacted by the event.
-Responsible for the recruitment, supervising, training, development and evaluation of Run Captains (Water Stations, Marshals & Zone Directors).
-Sourcing, evaluation and contracting of all equipment and supplies contractors related to the course as well as event as requested by the CRS West Manager of Operations.
-Inventory and management of the warehouse with support from the CRS West Manager of Operations
-Responsible for the logistics of truck loading plans, loading trucks and the plan to unload them and reload them on site
-You will work with the Manager of Operations on the loading of all other event trucks and for the crew required to unload and reload them on site and back at the warehouse.
-You will be responsible for the procurement and installation & removal plan for all event related signage.
-Other duties as assigned.
In addition to the roles listed above in Vancouver, the Logistics and Course Specialist would take on minor planning and Race Day Roles at the following events outside of Vancouver:
Banque Scotia 21k de Montreal – April 25 & 26th, 2020 - Race Day Role on Course with minimal review and support in the lead up.
Edmonton 10k – TBD, 2020 Race Day Role on Course with minor planning work as outlined above (warehouse/truck loading)
Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon – October 18th, 2020 - Race weekend Ops Support & Race Day on Course
-5-7 years of experience in Operations and Event Management
-Excels in a collaborative environment with proactive communication
-Is always looking at ways to innovate and evolve the Event Experience
-Motivate, inspire, provide and accept feedback to and from the team
-Possess prioritization skills necessary to use time effectively and set action plans to achieve business targets
-Proven record for performance with set goals
-Excellent oral, written & listening skills
-Efficient knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, e-mail software and use of the Internet.
-Knowledge of Illustrator and Adobe Suite an asset
This is a contract role from Feb 1st – November 30th, 2020 that will include approximately 1000-1200 hours across six events. The majority of the hours will be between May – September. The ideal candidate will have weekday availability to work in the office with the team.
February to April: 16- 20 hours/ week
May to October: 25- 40 hours/ week*
*Race weeks will require additional hours and weekend work
