About the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL)

The Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) was born from a need to provide Canadians with a premium
basketball option that gives players, coaches, fans and other stakeholders the opportunity to engage with one
of Canada’s most popular sports. Never has there been so many Canadian basketball players competing at
the highest professional levels worldwide (NBA, NCAA, FIBA leagues etc.). It’s time to bring them home and
provide them with a professional basketball option. An option to compete in front of friends, family and
businesses that can support Canada’s ascent on the international stage. As Canada Basketball’s only Official
First Division Professional League Partner, the CEBL also proudly adheres to the International Basketball
Federation (FIBA) rules and regulations.

About the Guelph Nighthawks Professional Basketball Club

The Guelph Nighthawks are one of six founding teams in the CEBL. Guelph plays its home games at the
Sleeman Centre, conveniently located in the heart of downtown Guelph. The club provides fans with a fully
integrated entertainment experience starting well before tip-off in the downtown core. Once inside the
Sleeman Centre the club delivers a unique blend of entertainment for both the passionate basketball fan and
those looking for a new source of edge of your seat entertainment, including affordable seating sections, VIP
courtside seating, and the sights and sounds of music and dance crews.

Manager, Membership Services Overview

The Guelph Nighthawks are in search of a self-motivated, sales driven, team-oriented individual who is ready to
take on a self-fulfilling position in the sport industry. The Manager, Membership Services position will work
alongside the VP of Business Operations and other account executives to establish new leads and drive new
business through ticket sales, merchandise sales and customer service.
The ideal candidate will have ticket sales experience and a successful track record of driving revenue growth
with a background working with Ticketmaster’s Host or Archtics systems, and an outgoing, engaging
personality that will positively position the club in the Guelph marketplace. Established relationships in the
Guelph community or a proven record of converting new relationships into sales are considered a strong asset.
This position is a critical role within the Nighthawks front office, facilitating the club’s most significant revenue
streams. As a new professional club the front office is a small team of inspired leaders that are passionate
about the growth of basketball. The role will provide an incredible opportunity to influence the
growth and success of Nighthawks basketball.

Manager, Membership Services Responsibilities: (Including, but not limited to)
● Demonstrate initiative to proactively solicit and generate new business
● Responsible for maximizing revenue through the sale of Guelph Nighthawks ticket packages including
season memberships, flex packs, group and premium tickets
● Prospect potential clients through daily phone calls and email leads
● Meet or exceed weekly and monthly ticket sales goals
● Utilize Ticketmaster Archtics ticketing software to manage customer accounts
● Meet or exceed daily call and appointment goals
● Attend networking events and conduct face-to-face meetings
● Oversee implementation and fulfillment of all team ticket requests
● Utilize independent discretion in making use of team database, referrals and other sources to conduct
aggressive outreach to increase ticket sales and prospects database
● Prepare campaign reports, including analysis and research, with a purpose to develop future leads
● Handle walk-ins and incoming calls from prospective or existing sales clients
● Maximize all ticket sales revenue by independently identifying and self-generating potential new
prospects and leads.
● Work gamedays and other events to support ticket sales initiatives or merchandising
● Provide input on new processes and workflows as needed
● Focus on ensuring the maintenance of superior customer/fan service levels, operational excellence
and strategic insight
● Assist with all team merchandise sales and manage team retail outlet when needed
● Work game days and attend special events throughout the community to maximize sales opportunities.
(i.e. Tabling and attending networking events)
● Perform other tasks and projects as requested

● Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management, Business, or a related field
● A minimum of 1-3 years in customer service or account management is considered an asset
● 1 year of experience in a professional sales capacity is considered an asset
● Existing experience with ticketing software, specifically Ticketmaster, will be considered a strong asset
● Valid Driver’s License

● Ability to work nights, weekends as needed, in addition to traditional business hours

● Exceptional desire to reach sales goals and targets
● Understanding of event sales/ticketing industry and landscape
● Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products


● Monday - Friday with game day and some evening and weekend work required

● Base salary plus commission - please indicate salary expectations upon application
